About me
Hello! My name is Corinne Blake and I currently live in Kaiserslautern, Germany. I live in Germany because my husband is in the Air Force. Being a military spouse is a big part of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I also love to bake and cook. My husband and I enjoy going to the movies and playing games (video, board, or card).
I recently taught 7th and 8th grade science to military kids at Kaiserslautern Middle School. It is integrated science so the curriculum spans from Ecology to Chemistry in 7th grade and Forces to Earth Systems in 8th grade. I was head of the social committee, a new teacher mentor, and the co-leader of our 7th grade team. I am currently a substitute teacher at Ramstein High School as well as the co-testing coordinator.
I am pursuing my masters degree in Teaching and Learning with the Educational Technology and Online Instruction cognate at Liberty University. I chose this degree because I believe that technology is our future.
Some of the technology I have had the pleasure of working with in my classroom are SmartBoard, laptops, and an Elmo. I love the Smartboard because it can be very interactive with the students and allow us to interact as a class. However, it is interesting to watch the students discover information individually on the laptops. The Elmo is a hit or miss with me. Sometimes I enjoy it because I can project what the students need to do with a lab however, if the lab takes up to much room the Elmo isn’t big enough to accommodate this.
I look forward to learning all I can throughout my degree and hopefully am able to put it into practice in the future.
